Chrysalis, the management meet conducted by the VJIM family, is one of the most important events in the college calendar. The objective is to showcase the organizational and managerial skills of the students. The entire event is completely orchestrated by the students with guidance from the faculty. As Event management is an important facet of a successful manager, the students, put themselves forward and hone their skills in organizing this event on a grand scale.
Chrysalis means the quiescent stage in the metamorphosis of a butterfly; the pupa stage. Similarly, VJIM is the chrysalis stage of our students, where they pupate into confident and vibrant managers ready to take on challenges the corporate world throws at them.
The annual management seminar and event has become a tradition at VJIM. The event is organized by the Students’ Forum and has tremendous learning value. The senior students initiate this event and they also groom the juniors who carry the baton subsequently. Sponsors are the integral part of a successful management meet and leverage such event to their advantage. Chrysalis of last year was a huge success and attracted big corporate houses like Andhra Bank. Navabharat Ferro Alloys Ltd, UB Group, Indian Oil and Hindustan Coca Cola.
A contemporary topic is chosen as the seminar theme; distinguished guests are invited to share their thoughts on a common platform that has business relevance. At the end of the seminar the takeaways by way of new insights are deep and leave a lasting impression.
The deliberations of the seminar impart great learning value to the students who are at the thresh hold of becoming effective managers. Taking into account the dynamic process of 21st century the students have unanimously agreed that the seminar theme for Chrysalis will be “Building Winning Competencies in Manufacturing and Service sector”. We are confident that the topic has many exciting dimensions that will be eagerly debated upon during the seminar by our distinguished panel of speakers. Day two of the meet is being organized, where large contingent of students will participate in the various fun filled management games.
